Why you no watch my video
Everybody who creates content to share with the world wants it to be seen. Otherwise you’re shouting into the abyss, only to hear your echo calling back. Most people believe their content is great and get especially annoyed when they see content they believe to be inferior do better. Think of the mindless big budget films raking in big money vs some truly great films like Boyhood pulling in meager numbers in comparison.
On YouTube, where the accessibility is far greater, this is even more true. There is just so much noise, it becomes very difficult to spot the gems, and so it becomes a game of who you know and luck vs talent. This is where the idea for, “Why you no watch my video,” came from. We’re poking fun at the idea of somebody thinking their content is the best, even though it’s not, and not understanding why the viewers aren’t pouring in. I love this raw, dry humor. It’s one of those rare gems that make me laugh out loud at my own video.
