My 1st Cricket Game

Cricket, a game invented by some old white dudes to bring the many conquered lands together under British rule. I have, to this day, never watched a full day of cricket. I find it mindlessly boring, similar perhaps to watching a snail attempt to cross the back yard. It’s interesting for maybe 2 mins and then that’s that.

Before last Friday I hadn’t even been into a cricket stadium. Some of our cool managers got a group of us from work together and we went to watch a cricket game. This one was ‘only’ 3 hours, which is ¬†apparently ‘short’ and ‘fast paced.’ After attempting to watch for perhaps a minute, I spent the rest of the time chatting to friends, and completely ignoring what was going on.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love playing cricket, when well protected from being whacked on the head. But watching it is not for me. Stadium atmospheres, however, never get boring, so I may give it another go some day.

Some say I'm the most handsome man in the world (my mom), others tend to disagree, but one thing is certain - I love to entertain. Whether it be through music, writing, or film, seeing people respond with a smile is worth more than a bag of gold. Figuratively obviously, because smiles are free and gold is very expensive.
