Gym Rants: Don’t Talk To Me Bro I’m Gyming Here

After my last gym rant I realised I have plenty of gym ranting in me, as this is a place many of us spend at least a few hours a week in, there are bound to be things we love and hate about the space and the strange things people do in it. One such thing is people trying to talk to you.

Don’t get me wrong with this one, I like talking to people, and have had many great catch up sessions with old friends in the gym. But the gym is a place to get something done, something that requires extreme effort for some of us and which has a limited time allocated to it. Talking only┬ámakes that time less productive.

Talking to me to ask for weights or how long I am going to be is however unacceptable. I pay just as much as you to use the gym, I’ll be done with the equipment when I’m done. Right? Is that too much to ask? Am I being too demanding of a decent experience here? Maybe… maybe.

Some say I’m the most handsome man in the world (my mom), others tend to disagree, but one thing is certain – I love to entertain. Whether it be through music, writing, or film, seeing people respond with a smile is worth more than a bag of gold. Figuratively obviously, because smiles are free and gold is very expensive.
