It’s Carnival, the time of year where Caymanians dress up in the craziest outfits and parade through the streets to loud music, flowing alcohol and wild gyrating. I’ve never seen anything like it before. I just filmed in awe of the debauchery that lay before me.

Some of the crew from work and lots of friends of friends met up on the side of the road on another hot spring day in Cayman. We offloaded braais (barbecues), snacks, and drinks and set about waiting for the fun to begin. 3 hours later the parade finally crawled through! For a solid hour, truck after truck and person after person danced passed us in what I can only describe as a drunken trance. People’s bodies were only still moving because the alcohol was numbing the pain from the miles of dancing they had already done, and the miles more that lay before them.

We laughed, we ate, we drank – I got some free water off some trucks #winning. It was spectacular to behold.

Some say I'm the most handsome man in the world (my mom), others tend to disagree, but one thing is certain - I love to entertain. Whether it be through music, writing, or film, seeing people respond with a smile is worth more than a bag of gold. Figuratively obviously, because smiles are free and gold is very expensive.
